The astronomical spring, which will officially begin at 10.24 pm with the equinox, opens with unstable weather conditions in various sectors of Italy. There disturbance which reached central-northern Italy yesterday has taken on the characteristics of a “cold drop” and today will make its effects felt above all on the central regions, with scattered rains even of moderate intensityto then slowly move towards the south of the country, gradually weakening.
By Tuesday evening the disturbed system will also leave the southern regions, and stable weather conditions will re-establish throughout Italy for a few days, with temperatures rising up to values typical of late spring, for the high pressure reinforcement.
The forecast for the next few hours
Clearing up in the North-West, variable cloudiness over the rest of the country with more compact coverage over the central sector of the peninsula.
In the morning scattered rains and local showers in Romagna, the Marches, Umbria, Lazio and southern Tuscany. Scattered and mostly weak rainfall during the day in Abruzzo, Umbria and Lazio; isolated showers in Tuscany, locally thunderstorms in the south of the region. Possible temporal isolated along the eastern coasts of Sardinia, showers scattered over eastern Sicily and lower Calabria. In the evening possible light rains on Abruzzo, Molise, northern Campania, northern Puglia, improves in the rest of the Center; possible isolated showers on Basilicata.
Maximum temperatures slightly increasing in Tuscany and the North-West, slightly decreasing in the rest of the Centre, Campania and Sicily. Generally weak winds; moderate Mistral on the Sardinian sea, moderate southerly winds on the high Ionian Sea. Seas mostly smooth; moved the sea of Sardinia and the high Ionian, locally moved the central Tyrrhenian Sea and the Strait of Sicily.
The weather forecast for tomorrow
On Tuesday morning cloudy skies along the middle Adriatic side and over a large part of the South, with scattered rain or showers in Puglia, isolated rains in Molise, Abruzzo, Basilicata and the southern Apennines. In the rest of Italy more lightening, but with a tendency to veils in the North-West and possible presence of mists at dawn on the eastern Po valley. Few residual rains in Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria in the afternoon, slightly to partially cloudy skies elsewhere.
Minimum temperatures mostly slightly decreasing in the North, in the western regions of the Center and in Sardinia; highs decreasing on Puglia, Lucania and northern Calabria, almost everywhere on the rise elsewhere with peaks of 17-19 degrees.
Mostly light winds; locally moderate northern ones on the middle and lower Adriatic, western Tyrrhenian Sea and Strait of Sicily; mostly weak elsewhere. Seas: moved the Strait of Sicily, locally moved also the middle and lower Adriatic; the other basins are mostly calm or slightly moved.

Day of stable, dry weather about Italy. In the North, there is a tendency for clearing, even widespread in the morning, with cloud cover over the Levante Ligure, the Po valley and the upper Adriatic, with local mists along the coasts; towards evening, tendency for more clouds along the Alps and in the North-West. Partially cloudy in Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria, in Salento and, in the morning, along the Tyrrhenian coasts; elsewhere lightening alternating with high clouds that may veil the sky.
Temperatures slightly decreasing in the lows, highs rising in the middle Adriatic and in the South; elsewhere almost stationary values.
Libeccio winds reinforcing the Ligurian; Mistral residual in the Canals of Otranto and the Islands, mostly weak winds elsewhere. Seas: moved the Ligurian, the Strait of Otranto, the Ionian offshore and the Channels of the Islands; the other basins are calm or slightly moved.
