The words of Pecco Bagnaia
Pecco Bagnaia, after graduating world champion, has a dream: “Only Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez have managed to defend the title in MotoGP and I want to do what they did. It’s an even more difficult job”.
“Opening a cycle? I hope so – he added in an interview granted to La Stampa -. What is needed? Winning and being constant”.
Francesco, known as ‘Pecco’, Bagnaia after winning the Moto2 world championship in 2018, with the Sky Racing Team VR46, in 2019 made his debut in MotoGP riding the Ducati of the Pramac Racing Team. In September 2020, in Misano, he achieved his first podium in the top category of the World Championship.
The following year he moved to the official Ducati team and finished the championship in second place, behind the French Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo. In 2022, in his second year with the Rossa di Borgo Panigale, he achieved his first world title in MotoGp, at the end of a spectacular comeback over the reigning champion Fabio Quartararo, who had even reached a 91-point lead over the course of the season on Bagnaia.
