TANTRUM – The meeting between Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) DPP Hasto Kristiyanto and Chairman of the Advisory Council of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhammad Romahurmuziy, took place on Wednesday (1/3).
This meeting was widely discussed by the public after Romy uploaded it on his personal Instagram account @romahurmuziy.
Romy said the meeting was to equalize perceptions of the situation, national political conditions, and discuss the electoral system which is currently in the process of “judicial review” at the Constitutional Court (MK).
Romy said that one thing that was underlined from the meeting was that as fellow ideological and historical parties, PPP and PDIP both stated that they were ready to undergo a proportional election system, both open and closed.
Beyond that, Romy mentioned that together with Hasto he was nostalgic about the history of the journey of the PDIP-PPP duet during Mega-Hamzah. This is so that they can take lessons for their respective positions in the upcoming presidential election.

“We see each other with PPP, moreover we are neighbours. Just type on the neighbor’s door, we meet,” said Hasto.
Meetings were not only held with PPP, but with other parties, such as Golkar and PAN, which are in the same coalition as the Indonesia Development Coalition (KIB), including meeting with Gerindra and PKB in the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR).
“Meetings were also held with Golkar, Gerindra, PAN, and PKB. We often had dialogues so there were no problems,” said Hasto.
PDI Perjuangan, according to him, cooperates with parties, especially those with a history of developing this republic.
