Crucible main features:
Crucible Challenge League – Introducing the Crucible Challenge League, a new Path of Exile expansion that pushes the in-game item system to the limit by allowing you to upgrade weapons via dedicated skill trees. These trees will provide bonuses to improve or increase your character’s playstyle. To unlock the skills it will be necessary to consume the experience gained from the Crucible encounters, but it will always be worth it. In Crucible encounters, players will choose which weapon to upgrade through an Ancient Forge. As the weapon is shaped, the fused monsters transform into larger and more fearsome enemies. Pushing your limits is the fastest way to level up your weapon, but doing so increases the risk of failing the challenge. In the exclusive Endgame area, the Forge of Titans, these skill trees can be combined to create extremely powerful weapons.
— Atlas Gateway – New Endgame addition to Path of Exile, Atlas Gateways are nodes that allow instant traversing between two locations in the Atlas Passive Tree, reducing the amount of points needed to travel and allowing players to focus on building the tree thus choosing the contents to be addressed.
— Improved Endgame content – Breach/Abyss – The Breach and Abyss mechanics have been revamped. Both have been reduced and improved in gameplay, resulting in a more streamlined experience and highly targeted rewards.
— Reworked the Passivity and Mastery Skill Tree – About half of the Masteries have been reworked: the new Masteries have more interesting effects that -will breathe new life into many existing builds and provide more options for new ones.
— New Vaal skills – Added nine new Vaal skills. These are versions of existing skills that improve and augment the original skill, giving players a periodic boost when they need it, whether it’s to increase their offensive capabilities in anticipation of a boss fight or to mitigate explosion damage in case of emergency.
— Ascending Review – The Saboteur Ascendant and Pathfinder classes have been reimagined with new and powerful tools.
— Ruthless mode improvements – Several improvements have been made to Ruthless mode, including the return of the Eternal Orbs and the introduction of a number of specific challenges.
