South Park is an American animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone and developed by Brian Graden for Comedy Central.
The series revolves around four boys, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their exploits in and around the titular Colorado town. South Park became famous for its profanity and dark, surreal humor that lampooned a substantial number of issues.
South Park made its debut in 1997 and to this day, the series continues to push boundaries and is a reason fans have kept coming back for over a quarter of a century.
Regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, or physical ability, no subject is safe from South Park. Paris Hilton made the hardcore appearance of her in the 12th episode of the eighth season titled “Stupid Spoiled W **** Video Playset”. The episode poked fun at leaked celebrity sex tapes, including her and discussed her performance in that episode and how it affected her well-being in her new book, Paris: The Memoir, via UNILAD.
Hilton mentioned that the poster for the episode featured his face with the tagline: “’Watch Paris Die!’” and that he “didn’t care for that marketing approach,” adding, “I wasn’t naive about why he was cast.” .
“I’m the main character, but they also apply that epithet to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Tara Reid and all the girls who were fans, which annoyed me more than anything ugly they could say about me,” he continued. “It also bothers me that the episode graphically depicts Tinkerbell (Hilton’s pet dog) being shot to death. The thought of it made me sick. I’ve been involved in some pretty cutting-edge media, but I don’t even know where something like that comes from.”
Additionally, Paris Hilton also explained that half of the South Park creative team criticized her for not speaking out about the episode in question. “When a reporter told Matt (Stone) about my muted response on the red carpet, he said, ‘That shows how screwed up she is,’” she explained. “Not wanting to see the cartoon of him getting my dog shot and me coughing up ejaculate, that’s evidence of how screwed I am.”
