Yellow in Moscow. Andrey Botikov, 47, one of the scientists who helped create the Sputnik anti-Covid vaccine, was found dead at home in the north-west of the Russian capital. As reported by Tass, Botikov was strangled at home with a belt: a 29-year-old boy was arrested for the murder, accused of the crime.
Botikov worked for the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow. According to the investigators, the fact would have happened following an argument that took place over a domestic dispute.
According to Meduza, Botikov would be the owner of the apartment where the 29-year-old suspect in the murder lived. For his work developing the Sputnik vaccine, the scientist was awarded a Medal of Merit.
