Denpasar Sound – Bali Governor Wayan Koster also opened his voice regarding Indonesia’s revocation as host for the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
As is well known, his name became the butt of the public because it was considered the reason for Indonesia’s cancellation of hosting the Pildun, due to his refusal of the Israeli national team to compete.
He finally gave his opinion. However, as if he couldn’t give up being the target of netizens’ anger, Koster instead invited people to pray for FIFA to cross out the Israeli national team from the list of participants.
“I invite the people of Bali to pray together so that FIFA is moved to continue to act fairly by eliminating the Israeli Team in the FIFA U-20 World Championship,” said Wayan Koster in his release as quoted by suarabali.id, Thursday (30/3/2023).

Koster also said that basically he wanted the World Cup to be held in Bali, considering that he himself is a football lover.
However, due to humanitarian reasons, he had to reject Israel’s presence on the Island of the Gods. Not only that, according to him, the arrival of the Israeli national team to Bali has the potential to become a target for various parties.
“That could endanger the security and safety of the people of Bali, the people of Indonesia, and the Israeli team while competing in Bali,” continued Wayan Koster.
Previously, President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi had issued an official statement addressing the pros and cons. Jokowi asked the public not to mix political affairs with sports.
But still, the final decision rests with FIFA, which has recently announced that the 2023 U-20 World Cup will not be held in Indonesia, regardless of how far Indonesia has prepared for the event.
