To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Nobunaga’s Ambition seriesKOEI TECMO Europe today unveiled Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, the sixteenth chapter of Kou Shibusawa’s famous series of historical simulations. Here is the announcement trailer:
Originally released in 1983, the series has collectively sold over 10 million units, quickly becoming a favorite among virtual military strategists worldwide. Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam and will be available digitally on July 20, 2023.
In Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, the player will experience first-hand what the life of a daimyō, a powerful Japanese leader, was like during the famous Sengoku period. As the head of his own clan, he will have to make the best decisions in key areas such as economy, diplomacy and military might, in the hope of unifying the country. To do so, he will be supported by AI-driven officers who think and act according to their own judgment.
The new chapter will present numerous innovations such as the Sieges in a revised version: For the first time in the series, these battles will take place on a single map featuring a variety of castle and city typesa change that aims to make them more dynamic than ever and to increase their strategic component.
