BMW Motorrad Austria, in cooperation with Vagabund Moto GmbH from Graz, created the new BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept. Made on the technical basis of the electric scooter of the House of Monaco, it has a white, dark green, beige and black liverybut also presents aesthetic and functional elements designed for a young audience. For example, the smiley face on the front wheel hub and turn signals. Then we find the rear trunk as standard and… a surfboard with an integrated carrying system in the vehicle. The technical base of the scooter remains unchanged, driven by a maximum power 31 kW (42 HP) electric motor, capable of offering acceleration of 2.6 s to cover 0 to 50 km/h, a range of 130 km (according to WMTC) and a charge time of only 65 minutes from 0% to 80% (with an optional fast charger at maximum charge current).
“Everyone defines the mobility of the future in their own way. With the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept, we are now presenting our idea of an elegant and multifunctional urban electric scooter that shows how individual mobility needs are like every personality. We haven’t reinvented the wheel, but we’ve taken a new look at function. We call it tapping into the synergies between function and aesthetics in a way that is suitable for everyday use,” says Paul Brauchart, founder and managing director of Vagabund Moto GmbH.
“With this customization project it was very important to us to emphasize the enormous variability of the BMW CE 04. At the same time, it had to be a vehicle that particularly appeals to young and sporty people in an urban environment and is still suitable for every type. of customer. The fresh and modern design of the CE 04 is particularly in line with its aspiration for a sporty lifestyle,” adds Oliver Balzer, Head of BMW Motorrad Austria. “The surfboard is not just a sporting piece of equipment: it is also a metaphor for a sustainable urban lifestyle. The BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept combines work, leisure and individual style, showing that there need be no contradiction between any of these areas,” concludes Oliver Balzer.
