Experience and possibilities
In the words of the young actor, after his experience with production teams from the United States and Mexico, “the differences are very few; with ‘Cry Macho’ the crew was bigger, but not much. But getting to ‘Did you find what you were looking for?’ It was funny, I was in California and they told me that the director (Yibrán Asuad) wanted to see me, so I traveled to Mexico to meet him and the actress Andrea Chaparro, we did fair scenes and we discussed possible dates; For me it was a great joy, because I had wanted to be in a Mexican production for a long time and I had already talked with Yibrán, and finally the opportunity to work together was given, I also knew Andrea, as well as the career of Álvaro Guerrero”.
Likewise, now Minett has changed his tone, after a borderline and dramatic western with Eastwood, his new film is a comedy “and I like it a lot, because it is also similar to ‘Cry Macho’ in the sense that it tells about a friendship between two generations; if in one nostalgia talks about ranches and horses, here it is old cars and rock and roll”.
The pillars that help
The experiences and opportunities that he has had in his career, the actor knows, are to be appreciated, “but first of all to my parents, for their support, because they have always been with me; and to the people who gave me the chance to work on thisfor their trust that has opened the doors for me in this industry”.
On the other hand, Minett remembers that he became an actor because of his admiration for Jim Carrey, which is why “I really enjoyed doing comedy; Obviously, it meant a challenge, not only because of the character but because he doesn’t look much like me either, and I like that. Now it is a new role, and although there is no similarity, I always find something to identify with him, in addition to the fact that Andrea, Yibrán and Álvaro were enormous pillars to be able to develop the character”.
This leading role is also a challenge because the film rests to a certain extent on the shoulders of the young actor, “but I am lucky that my support is Álvaro, as an actor and as a person, in various aspects he has helped me a lot ”.

what are we made of
According to Minett, making movies is “what I’ve dreamed of for as long as I can remember; and also, I think that for the industry, in Mexico, there is a promising future, even if they criticize the platforms, everything evolves and it should be like that, we break stone and look for opportunities; now they seek to attract productions to the country, which opens doors for Latinos around the world, so that we can show what we are made of”.
The actor assures that this is precisely the future; “I have great friends in the middle and I get along with them very well; I feel that we are prepared to face things, and although we are young, I have been doing it for 11 years now, doing what I love and we have all the desire to conquer the world, to create. That is the future.”
