A spot to test for Key De Wolf and Jago Geerts, with the GP going into the hands of the Yamaha rider, almost perfect in race 2 and messy in race 1 (slide and bike off). But if the two sand specialists were expecting, surprised the third place of Thibault Benistant, not far from the first two. Fourth in the GP Simon Laengenfelder, a little out of breath at the end of the second heat, but overall determined to stay ahead. Andrea Adamo finishes “only” sixth, delayed by two non-optimal starts from which it was not easy to recover. However, the signs are good, above all for having seen him very brilliant in the last minutes of the second heat, with the track being very damaged. There’s probably still room to improve on the sand (and also in the starts), but Andrea is among the best in the Championship, even though he left Riola in fourth place, with De Wolf going back to second. The third race in Switzerland, on hard, will probably tell us something different.
Worth mentioning is the great brace of Andrea Bonacorsi in the EMX2 European Championship; being the first test, Bonacorsi is also leading the standings with full points.
