Two-faced day for Alex Marquez
Alex Marquez experienced a real day with two faces on Friday. The Team Gresini rider, on his first race weekend with Ducati, surprised everyone in the first free practice session by setting the best time, only to lose his pace in FP2 (conditioned by the red flag following Pol Espargaró’s accident), a session in which Marc’s brother didn’t go beyond eleventh position.
“In general it was a positive day, we just lacked the last cue to be in Q2 – said Alex Marquez to the official channels of the Gresini Team -. We lacked the perfect lap and I know it’s an aspect I need to improve on It was the first day of the season and perhaps there was a little more nervousness. We need to improve a little bit in terms of strategy, but the Friday of the first Grand Prix is absolutely normal.”
