Toxicity in video games, especially in multiplayer titles where each game generates a fight, is common in different communities. But it is also something that is lived in sagas with single player campaigns, such as the classic Sonic, which along with Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat, have the player base that uses the most expletives while sharing with other users online.
Sentence delivered by WordTips, who prepared a study called “The most positive and negative fan bases online, according to their use of language”, which analyzes the words used by the largest groups of fans, highlighting those that are most friendly and on the other hand, those who throw toxic comments on the Internet.

Something that could surprise since many would believe that it is communities of other titles that could take the first place of the most toxic, such as League of Legends, Grand Theft Auto or Minecraft, the latter appearing in places number 8 and 9 of the list.
But in addition, the research revealed the franchises with the most positive player bases, with the games Diablo, Pro Evolution Soccer, Pokémon, Monster Hunter and Borderlands remaining in the Top 5.
The sentiment analysis study was carried out to identify the words most used by the 186 most passionate fan groups on Twitter, ranging from Animal Crossing fans to Rihanna fans. This study made it possible to determine the 50 most negative and positive fan bases, and the five most representative were visualized in categories such as movie, music and video game franchises.
