André last performed in front of a large audience in September 2021. The Ziggo Dome published a fragment of the performance online. According to the concert hall, the singer was ‘received with loud applause’. It is a special moment for André. Not only is he making his comeback, he says he is also sober during the performance.
André then stopped performing due to a burnout. In the fall of 2022, he acknowledged in a message on Instagram that he had been ‘in the darkest period of my life’. ‘I have now overcome many addictions, but I will never lose the addiction to be able to sing for my fans.’
Monique says on her Instagram that she is very proud of the father of her son. “After a year and a half of no stage, no audience, no stress and no booze, there will be, in less than half an hour, the moment to which he has mentally lived and worked hard for the past few months,” she writes. Monique can notice a clear difference in André: ‘Whereas before he had been unbearable for days and looked up to it like a madman, that has now made way for calmness, fun and enthusiasm. I’m f*cking proud of this guy’.
It was not only a special evening for André, but also for all the artists who will perform this evening.
