Microsoft was committed to bringing Call of Duty to Switch and upcoming Nintendo consoles for a decade. However, there are many doubts about it, since we know that Activision tried and failed due to the technical limitations of the hybrid system.
For this reason, regulators believe that Microsoft will not be able to keep its word, much less its promise of parity in terms of options, content and quality. However, the company puts its trust in Activision and has just stated that Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are possible on Switch natively.

Are native ports of Call of Duty for Switch possible? Microsoft thinks so
In new statements to the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Microsoft has claimed that native versions of Call of Duty for Switch are fully viable. So alternatives such as the use of the cloud would not be necessary to bring the saga with parity to the Nintendo console.
To exemplify his point, the company mentioned the ports of Apex Legends, DOOM Eternal, Fortnite and Crysis 3, titles that run natively on Switch, with their respective adjustments, of course.
Microsoft believes that Activision could follow the same path to release Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the hybrid console. This despite the fact that the developer has already accepted that it had problems when trying to bring the franchise to Nintendo.
“The Activision development team has a long history of optimizing game performance for available hardware capabilities,” Microsoft noted.
He added that Warzone would not be a problem for Switch, since the game runs on computers “with GPU cards that were released in 2015.” In addition, he points out that its engine has been optimized to run on a wide range of devices, so it could be adjusted more to come to Switch.
“The parties are confident that, in addition to Warzone, CoD buy-to-play titles (for example, CoD: Modern Warfare 2) can be optimized to run on Nintendo Switch in a timely manner using standard techniques that have been used to bring games like Apex Legends, DOOM Eternal, Fortnite, and Crysis 3 to Switch,” Microsoft concluded.
