Michael Shannon admira mucho a Zack Snyder. The Hollywood actor has taken his time to pay tribute to the director of The Man of Steel, at the same time that he reprises his role in DC Comics as General Zod for the premiere of The Flash.
In an interview given to Looper about The Flash, Michael Shannon spoke positively of the former architect of the DC Extended Universe. “I loved doing Man of Steel and I love working with Zack Snyder,” said the actor. “I felt like it was actually, in a way, quite an important movie. It was nice to revisit the character.”

Before praising Zack Snyder, Michael Shannon admitted that he actually he was confused by his character’s return and the concept of the Multiverse who has been appearing in superhero movies like Spider-Man: A New Universe, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. “If memory serves, I think I died in Man of Steel,” the actor joked. “Are you sure you have the right guy?”
On the other hand, Michael Shannon also admitted that don’t follow superhero movies despite starring in them. “I can’t say that I’m a big consumer of this genre of movies, it’s not that I have anything against them,” he explained after praising Zack Snyder. “If I’m going to see a movie, chances are it won’t be one of those. But I love doing them.” When asked if he’s made any adjustments to his portrayal of Zod on The Flash, he had this to say. “I tried to get back into his skin. It’s a little different in this movie. It’s a little more… I don’t know how to say it. You don’t spend as much time with him, so you don’t get to know as much what he thinks.”
