Nintendo has announced that Metroid Fusion, the acclaimed classic Game Boy Advance title from 2002, will launch for Nintendo Switch on March 9. The adventure title can be played through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. To celebrate the occasion, they uploaded an announcement trailer.
The story goes after helping a mission on the planet SR388, Samus Aran is attacked by the dangerous X-parasite. After recovering, she discovers that a research station has suffered an outbreak of X-parasites, which can mimic different forms of life. Samus ventures to the station and encounters the SA-X, an X parasite mimicking her at full power. Making it through the station and regaining abilities like Wave Beam, Screw Attack, and more, Samus must clear all of the X’s while she simultaneously evades the SA-X.
As the highest-rated game in the series on the handheld, Metroid Fusion has received wide acclaim for its visuals, gameplay, and use of survival horror mechanics.
