What will happen with Avengers 6? Marvel’s plans could change and fans would go crazy over this news.
Marvel has a bombshell about Avengers 6. MCU fans may have to wait a little longer to see Secret Wars in theaters. Apparently, Kevin Feige’s studio is in talks to split the upcoming superhero epic into two movies. That would push the second half back to Phase 7. Nothing is confirmed though.
Plans to split the film into two parts
Comic Con 2022
According to Inside the Magic, reliable sources have claimed that Marvel Studios is rethinking the best way to release Avengers 6. One of the plans is to split the next MCU installment into two movies. If that’s really the path the studio chooses, Secret Wars: Part II, as well as the end of the entire Multiverse Saga… would be set back a few years.
Rumors that Marvel Studios was thinking of turning the upcoming blockbuster Avengers 6 into a two-part movie surfaced on the internet in February 2023. At this time, Kevin Feige’s studio and Disney have not responded to the reports. Which means fans should take these claims as rumor for now. The premiere of the film is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 1, 2026.
What do we know about ‘Secret Wars’ right now?
Avengers 6 was announced at the 2022 San Diego Comic Con and is expected to be a direct sequel to The Kang Dynasty. Although plot details of upcoming Marvel movies remain under wraps, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is expected to have an antagonistic role in the fifth installment. Strange has become a key player in the Multiverse Saga, with the recent Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness seemingly establishing the plot line for Secret Wars.
The end credits scene of the Marvel movie mentioned an imminent “incursion”, a term taken from the 2015 Secret Wars comic storyline which is used to describe two worlds that are about to collide. Michael Waldron, whose MCU writing credits include Loki and the aforementioned Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is penning the script for Avengers 6.
