What’s going on with the Spider-Man universe? It seems that Marvel Studios’ plans are much more ambitious than we thought.
Marvel has confirmed a news about Spider-Man. In an interview with Pilot Productions, actor Thomas Haden Church has revealed that his run as the Sandman in the MCU might not be over. Keep in mind that the actor appeared in No Way Home being one of the best villains.
The actor’s negotiations with Kevin Feige and company
When asked if he’d be interested in reprising his superpowered role, Thomas Haden Church confirmed that he, director Jon Watts, producer/executive Amy Pascal, and president Kevin Feige have had many conversations. That includes conversations about the possibility that the villain of Spider-Man will appear again in the Marvel movies.
“Jon Watts, Amy Pascal, the lead producer, Kevin Feige and I had a lot of conversations,” the Spider-Man actor admitted about appearing again at Marvel Studios. “And I would say… There have been conversations about the possibility of Sandman appearing in a future iteration. There has been talk of his return. And maybe pick up a more satisfying story with Flint and be not just Sandman, but go back to human form, because there was a story of that.”
What are the narrative plans with the Sandman character
Sony Pictures
The acclaimed actor commented that There’s a Reason Sandman Can’t Be Human in Spider-Man: No Way Home. And that he and Jon Watts have discussed the possibility that, in the future, the character could return as Flint Marko to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“There’s a reason he can’t be human, until the very end, when he’s seen very briefly, which is actually a screenshot from Spider-Man 3, because they wanted it to be kind of a throwback, where he’s seen as he was, and because… there is a chain of events in which he could not be human. And now… Jon and I have talked about the possibility that in the future he could come back as Flint Marko. So yes, that has been discussed,” said the Marvel Studios actor.
