What can we expect from this new What If? in Marvel
This number of Spider-Man en What If? will revisit one of the greatest Marvel Comics classics. This is numbers 121 and 122 of The Amazing Spider-Man series, whose story has always been known by the nickname “The Night Gwen Stacy Died.”
The novel history of marvel comics, as we have said, will change the places of the two main characters. In this new story, Gwen Stacy will manage to survive the traumatic event, while Spider-Man will perish forever, surely giving birth to Spider-Gwen, aka Ghost-Spider.
Synopsis for What If? Dark: Spider-Gwen reads this: “Spider legend Gerry Conway returns to his most famous spider story in this ‘What If?’ along with writer Jody Houser! What if Gwen Stacy didn’t die on the bridge that day, but Spider-Man did? I guess that’s all said and done.”
Technically, this has already happened in the spider gwen comics, but not in that way. The origin of Gwen Stacy in another alternate reality, different from the conventional Marvel canon, narrated how she obtained the superpowers of the spider and Peter Parker died.
However, Peter Parker was not a hero nor was he a good boy. In that universe, he became a villain, a kind of Green Goblin possessed by hatred and rancor. A vengeful and evil being who died because of Gwen Stacy herself.
