SuaraTasikmalaya.id – Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he and his team hate to lose. That was the coach’s answer about the mood in the MU camp ahead of the match against Real Betis at Old Trafford, Friday morning (10/3/23).
Betis is now ranked 5th in La Liga. They travel to the Theater of Dreams for the 1st leg of the Europa League round of 16.
SCTV will reportedly broadcast this match live at 03.00 WIB.

Erik, how would you summarize the last few days at Carrington (MU’s training ground) after Sunday’s result?
“(It was) a big loss and we are all disappointed, we are angry. Now we have to reset and bounce back.”
Everyone is looking for a reaction tomorrow night. What’s the right reaction for you?
“We needed to win, but we were up against a very good team. We have to be ready for that. We know that when we play our best, we have a good chance to win.”
How important is it to pay attention to the fact that one match result, however bad it may be, is just one game (an anomaly)? There’s still a lot to play for in this season.

“That’s definitely true, but we shouldn’t have lost 7-0 against Liverpool. We have to accept it, but for the rest you are right. It’s a defeat and we’re still in the right place – don’t forget that. Good position in the league and still playing in three (competitions) and we can still win a lot. We have to take lessons and move forward.”
There’s a lot of experience in this squad, so how important is that when we want to get back to winning again?
“We all know (how important) and even we have (a lot of) experience with many players who won many trophies. We know that in every season you have setbacks.
“We know we have won a lot of games in a row and had a very good form. And we know losing is a part of it too. But you don’t want to lose; we hate to lose. And now we have to take a lesson and (start) a new step.”
How important is the reaction of the fans going forward when the team wants to get back on the right track?
“It’s about unity, but we let them down last Sunday and we didn’t want that. We were disappointed with that. We are disappointed in ourselves.
“But we’ve seen throughout the season we have a very strong bond and we have to maintain that. The team must give the first energy. Give the first action and then the fans will be behind us.”
United face Real Sociedad and Barcelona in this season’s Europa League, plus Betis and Cadiz in friendlies. Do you think that experience will be useful for this fight?
“Oh yes, but we know Spanish football is technically very strong and these teams are an example. They have a lot of players who are rich in skills, so we are really looking forward to it.”
How is the formation of the squad, is there any suggestion that some were injured at the weekend?
“We have a strong recovery programme, I think we are pretty good. Quite disappointed that Marcel Sabitzer is not available, nor is Anthony Martial ready to return. For the rest, everyone is available and we are ready for this game.”
