There are barely two weeks left until Super Mario Bros.: The Movie lands in theaters around the world to try to redeem the previous film adaptation of Nintendo’s most popular and beloved character.

There, Mario and Luigi will meet characters like the princess Peach, Toad, Donkey Kong or the Machiavellian Bowserthe great villain of the saga.
We’ve talked at length about many of the original voice actors for Super Mario Bros.: The Movie, especially Chris Pratt and the controversy surrounding his choice as the voice of Mario. Today, however, we have to talk about Luigi, the other half of the tandem of plumbers from Nintendo.

As part of the film’s final promotional efforts, the new TV trailer for Super Mario Bros.: The Movie puts Mario’s brother at the center of the action.
Luigi will be captured by Bowser as part of the motivation driving Mario’s development journey in the film, but Luigi won’t be sitting still.
At the end of this brief 30-second television spot from the film, which you can find in the news headline, Luigi evokes his famous catchphrase “You just got Luigi’d“, in a cool new nod to Nintendo video games.
Super Mario Bros.: The movie will hit theaters around the world on April 5, 2023with Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor Joy as Peach, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Jack Black as Bowser, among others.
