The Brazilian edition of the contemporary music festival Lollapalooza began this Friday with a varied program in which the Americans Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X will be the main attractions of the first day.
For the closing day on Sunday, after three days of intense programming on the four stages set up at the Interlagos racetrack in Sao Paulo, the closing ceremony will be led by the Canadian Drake and the Spanish sensation Rosalía.
The festival began after noon with more people outside the autodrome than in the four stages that opened the program and that will each have more than twelve hours of concerts per day.
The first concerts, with little public, were given by local artists such as Gab Ferreira, Curol, Aliados and Brisa Flow, the first Brazilian indigenous artist to perform at the festival.
On the first day, in addition, the successful Brazilian female duo Anavitória, the German DJs Claptone, the British band Gorgon City, the American John Summit with his house music and his compatriots Rise Against, exponents of punk, will also perform.
But the most anticipated presentations of the day by the Brazilian public will be those of the Americans Kali Uchis, of Colombian origin; rapper Lil Nas X and Billie Eilishthe young star who owns the hit “Ocean eyes” from 2016.
The Californian artist was already scheduled to make her debut in Brazil in 2020, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, her performances were cancelled.
“It was a long time to wait,” Billie Eilish wrote on her social media.
Some of the names that were on the billboard initially disclosed, such as the Americans Omar Apollo, Dominic Fike, 100 Gecs, Blink-182 and Willow Smith, daughter of actor and rapper Will Smith, were cancelled, but without detracting from the festival’s interest of the public.
On Saturday, the second day, the main lineup will include the Australian psychedelic music group Tame Impala, the American Twenty One Pilots and Melanie Martínez, and the Brazilian star Ludmilla, one of the greatest exponents of funk from Rio de Janeiro.
On the last day, Sunday, with the famous Brazilian reggae and rock band Os Paralamas do Sucesso on the lineup, the closing attractions will undoubtedly be Drake and Rosalía.
The Canadian is scheduled to arrive in Sao Paulo after his presentation in Colombia in a Boeing 767-200ER from the CargoJet company exclusively for him and confirmed that on Saturday he will be at a private party at the Campo de Marte executive airport.
The Spanish, who was in Brazil in 2022, he returns to the country with the success of his merengue “Despechá” in the stellar telenovela of the Globo network “Vai na fé”, which further catapulted his admiration from his Brazilian followers.
