In February, the full-back (307 minutes in the season) never played, while the midfielder managed to carve out just one minute. Asllani arrived from Empoli for 14 million, yet he has only started on three occasions so far. Even Gagliardini, destined to leave on a free transfer, was used more often (639′ against the Albanian’s 555′). It didn’t go better for Carboni (5 appearances and 24 minutes), while Zanotti took over in the recovery of Inter-Lecce.

In an era in which Serie A has fewer resources than the other European championships, the development of young people represents a step from which all clubs must try to pass, both for technical reasons and for cash… matters. Pioli’s Milan lined up Tonali from 1′ and above all Kalulu and Thiaw, who were practically unknown before becoming Rossoneri. Mourinho can no longer do without Zalewski and is gradually launching Bove, Volpato and Tahirovic, while Allegri – in addition to the very expensive Vlahovic and Kean – has also managed to give space to Fagioli and Miretti, plus the various Soulé, Iling-Junior and Barrenechea …

Since he became the coach of Inter, Inzaghi has never made… the Materazzi. Last year he conceded just 8′ to Zanotti and another 33′ to Satriano, the very promising Casadei was sold for gold to Chelsea, despite having never made his debut for Inter. Even in Lazio, the script was the same. The love story between Simone and the young players in Formello lasted very little. In 2016 Lotito promoted him from the Primavera to the first team and Inzaghi brought along some of his loyalists. This is the case of Murgia (592′ in 2017), Cataldi and Lombardi, plus many others who have played in Serie A for a few rounds of the clock.
