ROMA – A group boss mafia Italy managed to escape from the high security prison using bed sheets. His dramatic action of escaping was caught on a surveillance camera and went viral on social media.
Marco Raduano (40) escaped from the Badu’e Carros prison in Sardinia last Friday. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras and widely shared on social media.
In the video, the mafioso, dressed in tracksuit, descends from the second floor of the prison with the help of a makeshift rope made of tied sheets as he jumps and lands in the grass below.
He then ran and disappeared into the small town of Nuro. The escapee went unnoticed for two hours because the prison was “understaffed”.
He reportedly managed to disappear into town without a trace, with a search now underway for him as Italian authorities conduct a manhunt throughout the area.

Police have set up roadblocks and are carrying out checks on every vehicle leaving the city. The Italian government has ordered the deployment of hundreds of soldiers and police to Sardinia to help with the search.
Raduano is believed to have links to the local mafia, which has raised fears of reprisals or violence. The police had warned the public not to approach Raduano if he saw him, but immediately called the emergency number.
The incident has raised concerns about the security of the high-security prison.
Raduano was already serving an 18-year sentence for drug trafficking when he took advantage of the prison’s staff shortage to escape.
