Tattletav had created a beautiful city in Animal Crossing: Wild World and was eager to show off her hard work. She hopped on a forum to see if anyone wanted to visit, she found a couple of people who were interested and they exchanged friend codes for a virtual tour. Unfortunately for Tattletav, the players she invited ended up completely destroying her city.
Tattletav was devastated by what happened and returned to the forum to let people know to stay away from the pair of players she had come across. It was then that she was introduced to Kathline, another random player who said that she would be more than happy to travel to the city of Tattletav and help set things right with other friends of hers. Despite the fact that other strangers had just betrayed her, Tattletav felt that Kathline was someone she could trust, so the two exchanged friend codes and helped him rebuild her city.
This started an incredible friendship between Tattletav and Kathline, most of which was fostered through Animal Crossing: Wild World. The gamer couple played online for over a year, enjoying the cities and each other’s company. Everything seemed to be absolutely perfect, until one fateful day when Kathline didn’t appear in the game.
Tattletav had no idea where Kathline was, as she didn’t appear in Wild World or reply on the forum. This prompted Tattletav to leave the gates of the Wild World open for 8 days, hoping that Kathline would show up. On the eighth day, Tattletav heard the familiar noise of someone coming to his doorstep. Unfortunately, it was someone who brought very sad news.
Instead of Kathline, it was her daughter who acted as Kathline’s avatar. Kathline’s daughter let Tattletav know that her mother had unfortunately passed away. Before her passing, Kathline gave her daughter instructions on how to play Animal Crossing: Wild World and visit Tattletav to break the news about her. Even in her final moments, Kathline didn’t want Tattletav to think that he would simply abandon her.
It’s a heartbreaking story, but it also shows the power of video games to foster friendships and connections. Many still think that video games are a waste of time, as well as an activity for hermits and loners. Obviously we know that couldn’t be further from the truth, and stories like this help others to realize it.
