Lazio had promised: “We will identify those responsible”. And so it was: with an official press release, the Biancoceleste club announced the measures taken for anti-Semitic supporters during last Sunday’s derby against Roma. For the man photographed in the number 88 shirt with the Hitlerson inscription and for two other people caught in the act of the Roman salute, there will no longer be the possibility of accessing the Olympic stadium: all three are excluded for life. It should be emphasized, however, that it is not a question of a Daspo, but of the application of the code of ethics which also provides for similar measures for the most serious actions.

“During Sunday’s match, Lazio-Roma, and in the days immediately following, three people were identified who engaged in behavior that has nothing to do with fan support and that manifests forms of discrimination and anti-Semitism. Thanks to the collaboration between the Lazio Sports Society – reads the club’s official website -, its security service, stewards and law enforcement agencies, also through the use of the surveillance cameras of the Stadio Olimpico, proceeded in a short time to the identification of a person wearing the number 88 shirt bearing the inscription “Hitlerson” and of two others who ostentatiously made the gesture of the Roman salute. Against them, once the administrative procedure of the security bodies has been concluded and from the Public Prosecutor’s Office the authorization to the Police Chief to provide the personal details of the three subjects, Lazio will strictly apply the Code of Ethics and will order the non I therefore appreciate the removal for life from the stadium and – adds the club – will appear as a civil party for the request for compensation for damages in any criminal proceedings that will follow”.
