Melissa Benoist, who just starred as the superhero Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El in the hit DC Comics series about Supergirl, will voice the heroine Teela in the upcoming animated series. A project that is a sequel to the acclaimed animated series that Kevin Smith made in 2021 and was titled Revelation. “I jumped at the opportunity to work alongside my friend Kevin and join the Revolution family as another bold and intrepid hero,” said Melissa Benoist. “I’m looking forward to sharing the next evolution of Teela’s story with fans.” Teela was previously voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) in the Masters of the Universe series Apocalypse.

Masters of the Universe: Revolution was announced in June 2022 during Netflix’s Geeked Week. The series will follow Teela, He-Man, and the rest of the Masters of the Universe heroes as they “fight to save Eternia from the webs of darkness.” Revolution is an all-new story that focuses on “the classic rivalry between He-Man and Skeletor in a way never seen before,” reads the official synopsis for the series. “Technology meets magic as He-Man and his heroic warriors face off against the forces of Skeletor and a deadly threat to the Planet in the next epic chapter of the battle for Eternia.” It is quite a success to have a star like Melissa Benoist in the cast.
