Keanu Reeves has put a condition to make John Wick 5. The actor has said that he would return for the next installment, but only if a specific order was fulfilled. The end of the fourth film is truly a close for the character, as John kills the Marquis de Gramont and gains his freedom from the High Table. He soon succumbs to his injuries, and Winston and the King of the Bowery bury him next to his wife.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Keanu Reeves revealed that he would be willing to return for John Wick 5, but only if franchise director Chad Stahelski was involved. He explained that while he is open to returning to the role of Baba Yaga, he hopes that Chapter 4 will offer a conclusive ending for the character. “I don’t know,” he said. “I guess I’m going to have to lean towards ‘never say never.’ I mean, I wouldn’t do a movie in this series without Chad Stahelski. We would have to see what it would be like. To me, it feels really good that the character has found peace.”

Although Keanu Reeves confirms that he would be open to coming back as a serial killer as long as Stahelski is involved, the purpose of the conclusion of Chapter 4 would make it difficult. Winston and the King of the Bowery are standing by John’s grave at the end of the film, with the King talking about where he may be spiritually. His conversation indicates that John is truly dead, that he has found peace in both life and death after his duel with Caine. What could they tell in John Wick 5?
However, since John’s body has not been seen by viewers, there is still a possibility that he is hiding to ensure his safety after his release from the High Table. Winston’s dialogue in the final scene of the film could be interpreted as the knowledge that John is alive somewhere., the tombstone being a ruse to make sure no one else tries to find and kill him. If that’s the case, John Wick 5 could confirm it by having something else happen that brings John out of hiding from him once again.
