The Punisher was one of the Marvel characters who participated in the Netflix series that contributed to the expansion of the UCM, although they were later unofficially removed from the canon. Jon Bernthal he embodied the Punisher in that shared universe, debuting in Daredevil season 3.

Now, it seems that Jon Bernthal will be another of the chosen ones who will officially resume their characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the actor is ready to re-arm himself to the teeth and play the role of Frank Castle in the series Daredevil: Born Again which is preparing for Disney+.
Netflix’s Punisher returns
Jon Bernthal made his debut as the Punisher in season 3 of Daredevil, as we have said, and then he enjoyed two seasons of The Punisher before the idyll between Marvel and Netflix came to an end.
Despite the good news of Jon Bernthal’s return as Frank Castle, the same Hollywood Reporter article is less promising for Karen Page y Foggy Nelsonthe two main supporting characters of Daredevil in the Netflix series.
Barring future changes, it is not expected that Deborah Ann Woll y Elden Henson reprise their respective roles in Daredevil: Born Again, but it’s unknown if the characters will be eliminated in the Disney+ series or if other interpreters will take care of them.
Naturally, given the changing nature of these types of projects, both stars could soon join the cast and resume their characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
