The new Superman actor? James Gunn has offered some information about the generational change of Henry Cavill in the DC Universe.
James Gunn has announced details about the new Superman actor. According to Grace Randolph, a casting announcement has been sent out to talent agencies for the Man of Steel reboot. The film is looking for actors in their 20s to play Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.
Untrue. We haven’t begun casting other than making lists, and it’s not limited to people in their twenties.
When asked by a fan if the scoop was true, DC Studios CEO James Gunn responded by noting that it was “false,” while also confirming that have started making lists of possible actors for the film. But the actual casting process has yet to begin on the Superman: Legacy project. “False”, the filmmaker denied the information. “We haven’t started casting other than to make lists, and it’s not limited to people in their twenties.”
When will we meet the new Clark Kent actor?
When The Hollywood Reporter claimed that Clark Kent would have been around 25 years old in Superman: Legacy, James Gunn clarified that the DC Comics hero would only be “less than forty years old” and that he “could be” a little younger than Batman. In addition, the director managed to set the record straight by noting that “no one has yet been chosen for the role of the Man of Tomorrow” for the film and that the casting would take place “after the script” of the project “is finished or almost finished”.
James Gunn’s Latest Update On Superman: Legacy Could Hint That the official announcement could come sooner rather than later. The fact that DC Studios already has a list of possible actors also means that the script for the reboot is finished. Gunn had already hinted that major casting announcements could come in the next “6 months,” hinting that there will be meetings with the actors soon.
