After the swearing in of the new Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Guadalajara (Canaco), the head of the organization, Raúl Uranga Lamadridwho was endorsed in the position for this year, He affirmed that the city’s commerce sector has already recovered the levels it had before the health emergency caused by COVID-19.
During the event, which took place at the Canaco facilities, Uranga Lamadrid highlighted that this year growth of close to 8 percent and better results are expected in the tourism industry.
“We have to say that there will be no hotel rooms (in Holy Week and Easter) from so many events (scheduled) in the city for November,” he commented.
In his message, he also asked for progress in regulatory improvement in the different procedures that are carried out in municipal offices.
The business leader stressed that This year’s challenges include reducing crime rates, containing inflation and dealing with business understaffing. “It’s still a big challenge to have the complete squads.”
On the other hand, in his work plan for 2023, he highlighted the boost in the attention of partners through digitization and the involvement of Canaco in the reactivation of the Historic Center of Guadalajara.
In addition, he highlighted the Chamber’s participation in cultural events such as the International Meeting of Mariachi and Charrería, which this year will have exhibitions in Seville and Madrid.
