The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be the first $70 USD game for Switch. Nintendo knows that there are players who are not happy with this, so Doug Bowser, president of the company in America, spoke on the subject and justified the price increase.
From his perspective, the game will justify its cost by itself, as it will be a great adventure for all fans of the saga and users of the hybrid console. Thus, Bowser believes that players will be satisfied and understand the price of $70 USD.

Bowser thinks the price of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is right
During an interview with the Associated Press (via VGC), Bowser was asked about the price of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is an important issue for all Switch owners. The manager believes that the price is correct, since the title has a lot to offer.
In this sense, he believes that fans will understand the price increase once they enjoy the title, since its immersion and the experience in general will justify the $70 USD. Likewise, he clarified that it will not be a general increase.
The manager reiterated that they will analyze case by case to determine that other titles will have a similar price. Currently, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the only $70 USD game confirmed so far for Switch.
“We see what the game has to offer. I think fans will find this to be an incredibly well-rounded and deeply immersive experience. The price reflects the kind of experience fans can expect when it comes to playing this particular title,” Bowser said.
