WEST BANK – Team attack Israel towards citizens Palestine in the West Bank and East Jerusalem continue to increase during Ramadan. This was revealed by Palestinian sources to Arab News, Wednesday (29/3/2023).
On Tuesday (28/3/2023), the Israeli army arrested 13 citizens from various parts of the West Bank. At the same time, and for four consecutive days, Israeli troops continued to tighten their grip on the town of Huwara, south of Nablus.
Kamal Odeh, secretary of Fatah in Huwara, said the Israeli army had been intensively deployed on the main road, setting up several barriers and trying to divert the route of residents through secondary roads within the city.
According to eyewitnesses, the Israeli army converted several houses along the main road in the middle of Huwara into military barracks.
Amer Hamdan, a human rights activist from Nablus, told Arab News that it usually takes him an hour to drive from Nablus to Ramallah. Today, however, the journey takes two and a half hours due to the Israeli military checkpoint at Huwara.
“The security situation around Nablus is very scary,” Hamdan told Arab News.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Israeli bulldozers destroyed three agricultural facilities in the wilderness of Al-Sawahra, east of Jerusalem, and a commercial facility in Deir Ballut, west of Salfit.
Major General Abdullah Kamil, the governor of Salfit, said that the Israeli authorities’ policy of destroying houses and facilities in Salfit is one of the most horrific and inhumane practices.
