Within a few weeks, one of Porsche’s most important models will go under the knife: the Cayenne. The Germans already told us that we could count on the most radical facelift in the history of the brand, but on the outside that does not seem to be going away. Porsche showed it in camouflaged form earlier and, except for a few Taycan hints in the headlights, the Cayenne remained recognizable. Now we also get an insight into the interior, and there the influences of the electric model go further… Much further.
From one to three screens
To make it easy for us, Porsche itself lists the similarities with the Taycan. After the facelift, the Cayenne will thus be the first Porsche with a combustion engine to receive the fully digital, curved 12.6-inch driver display. To the right of this we find — also on his Taycans — a compact lever for the automatic transmission, leaving room in the center console for a panel with physical climate buttons. Above that we find not one, but optionally even two infotainment screens, because in addition to the central 12.3-inch copy, the passenger can enjoy their own 10.9-inch screen. According to Porsche, this includes a streaming platform for films and series, from which the driver is excluded by a smart filter over the display.
Now that we have an idea of both the exterior and the interior, it remains only to wait for information about the powertrains. We do not expect many changes in this, although it is always possible that Porsche will add all kinds of mild hybrid help to the existing engines. We do not have to count on a fully electric version for the time being, because Porsche already revealed that it is reserved for the next generation after 2025. Until then, Cayenne drivers have to persevere with this facelift, which will be fully revealed on April 18.
