The Mexican Stock Market (BMV) fell back this wednesday 0.19% in its main indicator, to be located in 52 thousand 550.4 unitsa result in line with the main indices of USA.
“The US capital market closed the session with heavy losses. The S&P 500 and the NASDAQ Compositethe two main indices of the United States stock market, registered falls of 1.65% y 1.6%respectively”, explained the director of Economic and Financial Analysis of Banco Base, Gabriela Siller.
In Mexico, he added, the Price and Quotation Index (IPC)the main indicator of the BMV, “closed with a loss of 0.19%. Within the Mexican market, only a third of the 36 main broadcasters closed with profits.”
Among the companies with the highest losses were Alfa (-2.06%), Kimberly-Clark (-1.94%) and Quálitas (-1.76%).
Despite the decline of this day, the IPC registers a gain of 8.8% so far this year and is located at a 7.9% from its all-time high of 56 thousand 536.68 pointsreached on April 1, 2022.
In the session, the peso appreciated a 0.32% against the dollar, when trading at 18.56 units per greenbackafter being valued at 18.62 in the previous dayaccording to data from the Bank of Mexico.
The IPC closed the session in 52 thousand 550.4 unitswith a loss of 102.25 points and a negative variation of 0.19% compared to the previous day.
The volume traded in the market reached 241 million titles for an amount of 18,526 million pesosaccording to data from the Bank of Mexico.
Of the 560 firms that traded on the day, 163 they ended up with their prices rising, 371 they had losses and 26 closed without changes.
The titles with the greatest upward variation were from the logistics company Grupo Traxión (TRAXION A), with 4.65%; la cadena de supermercados LaComer (LACOMER UBC), with 2.87%and the brewer Anheuser-Busch Inbev (ANB), with 2.83%.
In contrast, the largest downward variations were from the media company TV Azteca (AZTECA CPO), with -31.39%; the marketer of household products Grupo Famsa (GFAMSA A), with -5.19%and the company Value Grupo Financiero (VALUEGF O), with -5.08%.
In the day the four sectors lost, starting with the financial (-0.66%)followed by materials (-0.19%), the one of frequent consumption (-0.14%) and the industrialist (-0.06%).
