The Mexican Stock Market (BMV) this Monday registered a moderate advance of the 0.15% in its main indicator, until reaching 52 thousand 851.42 unitsin a day with profits for most of the main broadcasters.
“The capital market closed the session with moderate gains globally, with nervousness in the banking sector easing in the expectation that the recent collapses of regional banks do not present a systemic risk,” explained the director of Economic and Financial Analysis of the Base Bank, Gabriela Siller.
In Mexico, he said, the Price and Quotation Index (IPC)the main indicator of the BMV, “recorded a gain of 0.15%with 22 of the top 36 broadcasters making a profit.”
He noted that they highlighted the progress of the Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (+1.84%), Femsa (+1.75%) and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (+1.71%).
With the advance of this day, the IPC registers a gain of 9.05% so far this year and is located at a -7.38% from its all-time high of 56 thousand 536.68 pointsreached on April 1, 2022.
In the session, the peso appreciated a 0.7% against the dollar, when trading at 18.32 units per greenbackafter being valued at 18.45 in the previous day, according to data from the Bank of Mexico.
The IPC closed the session in 52 thousand 851.42 unitswith a profit of 80.3 points and a positive variation of the 0.15% compared to the previous day.
The volume traded in the market reached 260.6 million of titles for an amount of 18,259 million pesosaccording to data from the Bank of Mexico.
Of the 474 firms that quoted today, 196 they ended up with their prices rising, 251 they had losses and 27 closed unchanged.
The titles with the greatest upward variation were from the financial services firm Alterna (ALTERNATE B), with 13.04%; the oil company Vista Oil & Gas (VIEW A), with 12.54%and the Saltillo Industrial Group (GISSA A), with 3.01%.
In contrast, the largest downward variations were from the recycling company Convertadora Industrial (CONVER A), with -20.58%; the marketer of household products Grupo Famsa (GFAMSA A), with -7.59%and the chain of sports centers Sports World (SPORT S), con el -5.46%.
In the day, 2 sectors won, the one of frequent consumption (0.77%) and the industrialist (0.72%); one did not register percentage variation, that of materials (0%) and one lost, the financier (-1.36%).
