The Mexican Stock Market (BMV) advanced this Tuesday a 1.4% in its main indicator, until reaching 52 thousand 652.65 unitsin a highly positive day for financial issuers.
“The capital market closed the session with generalized gains at a global level due to less nervousness regarding the stability of the financial system,” explained the director of Economic and Financial Analysis of Banco Base, Gabriela Siller.
In Mexico, the Price and Quotation Index (IPC)the main indicator of the BMV, “recorded a gain of 1.4% in the session on Tuesday, after being closed on Monday for a public holiday”.
He specified that within the CPI, “19 of the 36 main issuers registered profits”, highlighting a recovery of financial companies Banregio (+4.93%), BanBajío (+4.36%), Banorte (+4.23%) and Inbursa (+3.6%).
With the advance of this day, the IPC registers a gain of 8.54% so far this year and is located at 7.6% of its historical maximum of 56 thousand 536.68 pointsreached on April 1, 2022.
In the session, the peso appreciated a 1.63% against the dollar, when trading at 18.62 units per greenbackafter being valued at 18.93 in the previous dayaccording to data from the Bank of Mexico.
The IPC closed the session in 52 thousand 652.65 unitswith a profit of 727.04 points and a positive variation of 1.4% compared to the previous day.
The volume traded in the market reached 241.8 million titles for an amount dand 28,802 million pesos.
Of the 630 firms that traded on the day, 350 ended with their prices rising, 252 had losses and 28 closed without changes.
The titles with the greatest upward variation were Banco BBVA (BBVA), with 8%; the oil company Vista Oil & Gas (VIEW A), with 6.35%and the shipping company Grupo TMM (TMM A), with 5.38%.
In contrast, the largest downward variations were from construction and infrastructure firm Sitios Latinoamérica (LASITE B-1), con -6.95%; the housing construction company Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos (URBI), with 4.93%and the Santa Fe Hotel Group (HOTEL), with -4.36%.
In the day three sectors won, financial (2.98%), frequent consumption (0.44%) and materials (0.27%), and one lost, industrial (-0.65%).
