The Mexican Stock Market (BMV) advanced this Thursday a 0.53% in its main indicator, to settle at 52,827.93 units, in a session in which the advances of financial companies stood out.
“The capital market closed the session with mixed results among the main world indices, while in the United States, the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ Composite made profits of 0.3% y 1.01%, respectively, after yesterday’s losses”, explained the director of Economic and Financial Analysis of Banco Base, Gabriela Siller.
In Mexico, he added, the Price and Quotation Index (IPC)the main indicator of the BMV, “recorded a gain of 0.53% and on the rise stood out the financial BanBajío (+3.09%), Inbursa (+2.46%) and Banorte (+1.39%)“.
With the advance of this day, the IPC registers a gain of 9% so far this year and is located at a -7.42% from its all-time high of 56 thousand 536.68 pointsreached on April 1, 2022.
During the session, the peso depreciated a 0.26% against the dollar, when trading at 18.61 units per greenbackafter being valued at 18.56 in the previous dayaccording to data from the Bank of Mexico.
The IPC closed the session in 52 thousand 827.93 unitswith a profit of 277.53 points and a positive variation of the 0.53% compared to the previous day.
The volume traded in the market reached 190.5 million of titles for an amount of 15,709 million pesos (about 844 million dollars), according to data from the Bank of Mexico.
Of the 532 firms that traded on the day, 222 they ended up with their prices rising, 278 they had losses and 32 closed without changes.
The titles with the greatest upward variation were from the media company TV Azteca (AZTECA CPO), with 31.78%; the telecommunications sites lessor Telesites (SITES1 A-1) with 4.51%and the Banco del Bajío (BBAJIO O), with 3.1%.
In contrast, the largest downward variations were from the Banco Santander (SAN), with -4.99%; Infrastructure Promoter and Operator Pinfra (PINFRA L), with -3.77%and the BBVA Bank (BBVA), with -3.08%.
In the day, three sectors won, the financial (1.07%)the industrialist (1.02%) and the materials (0.27%)and one lost, the one of frequent consumption (-0.27%).
