Ana Obregón has become a mother again thanks to a surrogacy procedure in Miami (USA). This news puts the debate on this practice of illegal pregnancy in Spain on the table. Some voices have made the actress ugly for not having resorted to an adoption process to give a home to a homeless child if what she really wanted was to be a mother.
Susanna Griso says that the procedures that must be carried out to adopt being already a mother known as ‘elderly’ are not easy. In the case of the Espejo Público presenter, who had two biological children before adopting, she began the adoption process when her daughter was very young.
They always told her that to be an adoptive mother, the appropriate thing would be for the child to be younger than her biological son. The journalist passed all the controls and processes required to be able to access the procedure.
She says that national adoption was not considered because they told her that it was practically impossible and she also considered that those who cannot be parents should have that priority. “They told me that national adoption if you had biological children was a closed road,” he says.
Susanna, adoptive mother at 45 years old
The case of international adoption relates that the age distance is not allowed to be more than 40 years. Her process was very long and lasted 8 years, so when the adoption became effective, Susanna was already 45 years old.
Griso maintains that if you are an elderly mother you already have to consider not adopting a baby because you will not be able to due to age and you will have access to children between 4 and 7 years old.
