Final Fantast XVI has had a prominent presence in the PAX Eastthe video game event held in Boston this weekend, hosted by producer Naoki Yoshida and localization director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox of Square Enix’s PlayStation 5 game.
In a one-hour presentation, we have been able to see more gameplay than ever from Final Fantasy XVI, a new trailer, and a review of the game’s premise, the story, the characters, the real-time combat system…
To begin with, the trailer that you have on these lines is like a “tourist tour” for Valisthesaa new kingdom divided into six nations but consumed by war for control of magical crystals.
The environments, more varied and extensive than ever, can be explored riding Chocobo for greater agility, and in their towns and fortresses we will meet people from the six kingdoms, suffering the ravages of war in the Final Fantasy “more adult”with influences from Game of Thrones.

Here we leave you with a selection of 20 minutes of gameplay from the PAX presentation, which lasted an hour in total.
In the gameplay presented in the talk, they showed many images of their combat system, which almost turns it into a hack ‘n’ slash like Devil May Cry (In fact, the game features the battle designer of the Capcom saga, Ryota Suzuki).
Eikons are the equivalent of Summons (Phoenix, Shiva, Titan, Garuda, Leviathan, Bahamut, Odin and Ramuh) that we will first have to defeat as bosses, and then we will be able to use them in combat with many possibilities to make combos.
Clive Rosfield He is the protagonist, heir to the royal family of one of the kingdoms of Valisthea, and in the story we will see him grow up for decades, from the age of 15. He seems to be one of the most “intense” protagonists of the saga, but luckily he will have a very useful dog…
