Hogwarts Legacy surpassed the most recent installment of Call of Duty in the US
The report with the best-selling games and consoles for February 2023 in the United States was published by Mat Piscatella, an analyst at Circana (formerly NPD Group) and in video games it was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy was the best-selling game of the month, surpassing a real market beast like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The game inspired by the Harry Potter universe led a list that featured new releases in its Top 20, balancing the market response regarding established games and new ones.
Seven of the top twenty best-selling games of February were new releases, with Wild Hearts (#8), Like a Dragon: Ishin! (#9) and Octopath Traveler II (#10) also ranking among the top 10 best-selling titles during February.

On the other hand, it was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy is the best-selling game in the United States so far this year thanks to its excellent sales on PlayStation, Xbox and PC (Steam). Likewise, the success of this installment coincides with a better moment in the video game market in the North American country, registering a growth of 1% compared to the same month of 2022, which translates into sales of $3.9 million dollars.
Since we are talking about the Circana report corresponding to February of this year, it was reported that PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console of the month and its success was such that it surpassed a record set by PS2 in distant 2005.
