Two conversion kits dedicated to the Yamaha XSR900 arrive from Japan
March 24, 2023
Several weeks ago Yamaha filed the patents for the long awaited XSR900 GP. There is a clear message from the Iwata company, the intention to launch the GP version on the market. Unfortunately for her though we’ll have to wait a little longer but from Japan on the other hand two conversion kits arrive that make you dream. Let’s discover them together.
Y’S Gear, Japanese accessories supplier, offers the two conversion kits at a price ranging between 750 and 1,600 euros, thanks to which, the XSR900 is transformed into a real special.
The Sport Blood Line kit for the XSR is a nostalgic blast from the past, harking back to the 1975 YZR 500 with which Giacomo Agostini conquered his second world title. The conversion elements for the XSR are colored white, yellow and red, and on the replacement tank we also find the logo of the manufacturer of the three tuning forks of the time. The kit consists of the new tank, a new front mudguard, two extended side covers and a seat cover. The supplier declares that about two hours of work are needed to convert the XSR and that the kit will be available on the Japanese market starting from June 2023. At the moment there is no news regarding the European market.
The second kit developed by Y’S Gear offers a slimmer version where the round fairing with central headlight continues to be present. This kit will also be available from June 2023, with delivery in Europe – perhaps, upon request – and with a cost that is around around half of the more flashy and refined Sport Blood.
