Horror in Poland. For 13 years she lived with her mother’s corpse on the sofa at home. She first unearthed the body from the cemetery, then, after mummifying it, she brought it home, placing it in front of the TV. The grisly discovery was made after the 76-year-old man’s brother-in-law Marian decided to visit him at his home in the small town of Radlin. A horror movie story, reported by the local newspapers of Poland.
“He wandered around with a strange air, he seemed crazy”, said the man’s brother-in-law, who immediately understood that something was wrong. The two had not seen each other for some time, which is why he had decided to go and visit him. Entering the house, he saw that mummy sitting on the sofa in front of the TV. So he immediately notified the police.
“We had to intervene in an apartment for the discovery of a mummified human corpse”, confirm the investigators. The autopsy failed to establish the cause of death, but it did ascertain that those remains belong to Jadwiga L., who died in 2010 at the age of 95, Marian’s mother. Furthermore, it has been ascertained that the grave of Jadwiga L., where she was buried on January 16, 2010, is empty.
The old woman’s body would then be dug up. The cemetery is only 300 meters from the 76-year-old’s house, who then allegedly exhumed his mother’s body and then brought it home. “Everything indicates that the man must have used chemicals to mummify the corpse. The smell of mothballs was remarkable”. The body was “apparently” in “perfect condition”, explains the head of the district attorney’s office Marcin Felsztyński.
“He always left the house at night, took his bike and started pedaling around,” say Marian’s neighbors, who portray him as a lonely man. Jadwiga is now buried in the Radlin parish cemetery.
