For many, The Last of Us series is the best adaptation and proof that the curse of video games on television and cinema is over. Chad Stahelski, director of John Wick and the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima film, is one of them.
In a recent interview, the filmmaker praised the Naughty Dog and HBO production, believing it to be incredible and finally breaking the curse of adaptations. Thus, he thinks that he is a great role model for future productions based on video games. He also took the opportunity to praise Ghost of Tsushima and the work of Sucker Punch.

Chad Stahelski was fascinated by The Last of Us series
During a chat with the Post Credit Podcast (via The Gamer), Stahelski stated that The Last of Us series is proof that incredible adaptations of a video game can be made for television or the big screen.
He said that the work of Naughty Dog and HBO finally ended the curse of adaptations, so it deserves all the praise it has received since its release. Likewise, he believes that from The Last of Us he will lay the foundations for future adaptations.
“I hope that The Last of Us sheds more light on the upcoming video game adaptations,” said the filmmaker, who apparently will be inspired by the series to give Ghost of Tsushima fans everything they expect.
Stahelski Is Excited For The Ghost Of Tsushima Movie
The filmmaker is not only working on the adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima, but will also make a movie based on Rainbow Six. He stated that he is excited for both projects, so he will do everything possible to make them a success.
As for the movie based on the Sucker Punch game, the creative stated that it will have an incredible story since the game has it. So he’s excited to reveal more details of the project in the future.
“Rainbow Six, Ghost of Tsushima. (…) Both are fantastic projects that I really hope they come to fruition. But Ghost… has an incredible story. It’s the samurai anti-samurai movie. It has a great theme,” said Sucker Punch .
