GAZA ROUTE – The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on Friday (3/3/2023) condemned Israel for releasing the extremist Jewish settlers who carried out the Huwara pogrom.
Pogrom is a term for the organized massacre of certain ethnic groups.
“Letting go of the terrorist settlers, who carried out the Huwara pogrom in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, affirms the fascism and racism of the occupation against the Palestinian people,” condemned the Hamas statement.
“This step also shows the involvement of the occupying state in the crimes that are being committed in front of the eyes of the world against the Palestinian people,” said the Hamas statement.
Hamas emphasized, “Such steps encourage Israeli settler militias to carry out more aggression against Palestinians.”
Hamas urged the international community to take “serious and practical steps to punish the Israeli occupation leaders and hold them accountable for the Huwara pogrom and other crimes against our Palestinian people, and move beyond words of condemnation.”
