MANCHESTER (AP/RTR) – Erling Haaland is the third footballer to score five goals in one match in the Champions League. The 22-year-old Norwegian did that on Tuesday for Manchester City against RB Leipzig, in the eighth finals of the tournament.
Lionel Messi did that before for Barcelona and the Brazilian Luiz Adriano for Shakhtar Donetsk. Messi scored five times against Bayer Leverkusen in 2012, Luiz Adriano scored five times against BATE Borisov in 2014.
Haaland scored a hat-trick against Leipzig in the first half, scoring his fifth goal in the 57th minute. He was substituted in the 63rd minute.
