Synopsis
The novel published in 1979 tells the story of Alice Gould, an investigator who voluntarily enters a psychiatric hospital, following the trail of a murder case in which she is working on behalf of a client. But once inside her, it will be increasingly difficult for her to discern between what is reality and what is part of the cover that she has created to enter the hospital.
Bárbara Lennie (El Reino), gets into the skin of the enigmatic private investigator Alice Gould, while Eduard Fernández (30 Coins) plays the director of the sanatorium, Samuel Alvar. The cast is completed by well-known faces such as Loreto Mauleón (Homeland, El Secreto de Puente Viejo), Javier Beltrán (Las Leyes de la Frontera, El Inocente), Pablo Derqui (La Línea Invisible), Fede Aguado (Mar de Plástico, La Peste) and Adelfa Calvo (The Minimum Island, The Author), among others. The film is directed by Oriol Paulo (Contratiempo), with a script signed by the filmmaker himself along with Guillem Clua (playwright winner of the National Award for Dramatic Literature in 2020) and Lara Sendim (During the Storm), firmly based on the novel written by Torcuato Luca de Tena.
The film’s soundtrack is signed by the multi-award-winning Fernando Velázquez, one of the essential names in the original soundtrack for Spanish films, winning a Goya award in 2017 for the film A Monster Comes to See Me. Behind the project are the producers Atresmedia Cine, Nostromo Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures Spain, Filmayer and Netflix.
The tape lasts approximately 154 minutes and is classified as not recommended for children under 16 years of age. Unfortunately, the movie is shown in its Blu-Ray version without any additional content.
