At the Nintendo Direct in February, Capcom confirmed that Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, its cult classic for Nintendo DS, would return with a remaster. If that excites you, you’ll be happy to know that when this relaunch will arrive has already been confirmed.
At Capcom Spotlight this afternoon, Capcom announced that Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective will be released on June 30. This re-release will be available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. Keep in mind that it will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S thanks to the backward compatibility of both consoles, but will not have any improvements on the more powerful hardware.
As part of the announcement, Capcom shared some news from Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, showing that this game aims to be a love letter to the cult classic. For example, the entire soundtrack was renewed with new arrangements, but we will also have the opportunity to play it with the original versions if we prefer.
On the other hand, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for modern platforms will feature a gallery of illustrations from the game. To unlock it we will have to complete new challenges that will surely surprise the veterans.
