WASHINGTON, 09 MAR – The United States welcomes the decision of the Georgian parliament to repeal the controversial law on foreign agents. The spokesman for the US State Department, Ned Price, said this in a press briefing, underlining that Washington now hopes for “the total withdrawal” of the measure. “While we welcome the decision to withdraw the ‘foreign agents’ bill, we urge the ruling party to officially withdraw this measure and to no longer promote this type of law precisely because it is incompatible with Georgian and Euro-Atlantic values,” the US State Department spokesman stressed.
